Want to change the Woocommerce single product page layout with one of your own design?

I have always searched for this but get search results with tutorials that use a plugin and/or page builder like Elementor, divi, or Beaver Builder. I hate that. I want to do it myself. I want to know about what I am building and get to the bare bones of the site.

So here is a straight up quick tutorial to understand how you can change the single product page (single-product.php). It will also help you understand woocommerce’s template structure and hooks.

First you need to get setup.

1. We will assume you are ready to go with a sample site, staging site, or local site and have everything installed and ready for hacking.
2. Open up two file browsers, one with “../plugins/woocoomerce/templates/” and “../themes/your-theme-name/”
3. In your themes/your-theme create a new folder named “woocommerce” and enter it.
4. Copy single-page.php from “../plugins/woocoomerce/templates/” to “../themes/your-theme-name/woocommerce”.
5. Copy content-single-page.php from “../plugins/woocoomerce/templates/” to “../themes/your-theme-name/woocommerce”.
6. Open single-page.php and content-single-page.php in the code editor of your choice.

Second you are ready to do some simple code hacking.
